Network of Regional Youth Work Units England blog

A Network of Regional Youth Work Units, in England, collaborating across regions to promote good youth work and young people’s voices.

About the Network

UMT Play - Low Res-118The Network of Regional Youth Work Units: England brings together independent organisations working across the youth work sector at regional level in six English regions.

Regional Youth Work Units act as hubs for developing and supporting youth work in their regions, working with commissioners, providers and young people themselves to ensure the sector is well-informed, skilled and responsive to changes in government policies and young people’s needs.

The Network supports and strengthens the capacity of RYWUs, sharing and promoting best practice. We work with a range of national and regional organisations to develop new initiatives and joint partnerships for the benefit of youth work and young people.

In addition, the Network provides a bridge between national policy and initiatives, and local policy and delivery – enabling communication and supporting new developments.

The Network comprises six RYWUs across England:

London: Partnership for Young London

So, nothing for West Sussex where the youth sector has been demolished, especially the voluntary part of it, by cuts of 50% in County Funding since 2009/10. It’s a shameful disaster area, we are on our own here.

Hello. Unfortunately there is no Regional Youth Work Unit in the South East at present, but if organisations in West Sussex want information about youth work and related matters, the nearest Units are Partnership for Young London (http://www.partnershipforyounglondon.org.uk/) and The Regional Youth Work Unit at Learning South West (http://www.learning-southwest.org.uk/). I hope this is of help – if you have any specific queries we can help with, please let us know.

    Hi there,
How do you join the network? I could not access the website for the North West.
    Thanks

      Hi Alison,

Thanks for your comment. The web link for Youth Focus North West was out of date – I’ll update that now so thanks for bringing that to my attention!

The NRYWU is a network for regional youth work units in England. If you would like to find out more information about the work of the North West, please contact Liz Harding – her contact details are on this page: http://www.youthfocusnw.org.uk/our-team/
